Ms. Kurzyna, Mrs. Brigham and I are looking for quality posts. IF you aren't sure what to address specifically or what to write about, please see the Peer Editing Guidelines. What we did in the library today was ANSWER all of these:
1. Pick two questions from "The Basics" section of your peer editing sheet. (Exclude questions 1 and 2) Answer the questions fully!
2. Introduction: Does it have a hook? Is it effective? If it is, why does it grab your attention? If it isn't, how can it be more effective?
Is the thesis statement clear? How or why is it a clear statement? If not, how could it be more clear?
3. Body: Are the topic sentences present in each paragraph? Does the paragraph explain the idea presented in the topic sentence? Where is this done well on your peer's paper? If there are areas of concern, please select a paragraph and discuss HOW the paragraph can better explain the topic sentence?
Do all the body paragraphs support the thesis statement (help prove it)? If not, which paragraph could be improved and why?
4.Conclusion - Did the writer restate the thesis? Sum up the important points made in his/ her paper? Drive the point home? In other words, did they answer the SO WHAT? Why should we, the readers, care about your topic? CONVINCE US!!
If you aren't convinced, how can the ending be stronger?
